Biography of Paul C Motta, DO, FAAAAI

Dr. Paul Motta has practiced pediatric and adult allergy in Dothan since 1994. A native New Yorker, Dr. Motta received a BS in Biology/Chemistry at Union College in Schenectady, NY in 1979.

After medical school, he began active duty with the U.S. Air Force, receiving his initial training as a pediatric resident (1983-1986), and subsequently completing two additional years of comprehensive pediatric and adult allergy training. Dr. Motta served as Chief of Pediatrics at Griffis Air Force Base in 1987. Additionally he served our country in the Air Force during the first Gulf War as Chief of Allergy at MacDill Air Force.

Allergic disease affects many different parts of the body. It can manifest as wheezing, sneezing, rash or recurrent sinus symptoms. Allergies occur year-round in this area due to high humidity and a widespread, healthy agriculture industry.

Dr. Motta diagnoses and treats a wide range of allergic diseases including hay fever, asthma, eczema, urticaria (hives), food allergy, drug allergy, eye allergy, insect allergy, and immunologic disorders.

Dr. Motta has served on the Alabama Society of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology as Secretary/Treasurer, President-Elect, and President from 2001-2003. Dr. Motta is married and has three wonderful children. He is a Christian and strives to demonstrate the love of Christ in his daily medical practice.
